Paint and Panel: The Edge

Aug 25, 2020

This week’s key takeaway:

Never stop learning… with Paul Economidis

Episode intro:

It’s always nice to speak to someone who’s worked their way up from the shop floor to become a top dog in the business. This week we talk to Paul Economidis about his rise to the top at Gabba Collision Repair Centre in Brisbane. Starting as a panel beater, Paul has managed to scale the family business up to 3 sites doing 85-90 cars per week. He also tells the story of what made him: a massive hailstorm that saw demand go through the roof. He rolled his sleeves up and stayed open for 38 consecutive hours! Paul tells us how he has coped in good times and bad, and he gives a lot of great tips so you can do the same.

In this week’s episode you will learn:

-The benefits of dealer courses

-How OBD scanning can help

-Dealer diagnosis equipment

-How starting as a panel beater set him up to be a great decision-maker

-The importance of good signage and good layout

-The cost/benefit of dealer training

-Should you separate invoicing from customer services?
